Jan 31 Frontera Audubon Ctr (LTC 058) Arrived at 7am, about to go to work at 7:50 but just couldn't
leave. At 8am (when I should a have been at work) out flew the Object of Our Desire, from the thicket into the orchard,
sitting in an orange trio. It then flew to the house to the south, sitting out in plain view. Traffic stopped
on Texas Blvd as we grabbed our scopes and ran across the street. I got two obscured photos through the branches of
the orange tree, but my batteries went dead when he flew into plain view. I ran back to the car, got a new set, put
them in the camera and ran back, but he had flown down the street. I could have followed but by now I didn't want to
be TOO late for work... Number of species: 16 Plain Chachalaca
